A regular general meeting of the NAB ASD members was held.

The reports were heard: of chief specialist of the State Research Center “Troitsk Institute for Innovation and Thermonuclear Research” Asanov S.V. and head of the Experimental Design Bureau-4 of OJSC “SPA “Almaz” Ignatyev A.B. on the topic “The activity progress on the development of the special airborne systems in the U.S. and the Russian Federation.

The decision was taken:

1) To approve the principal trends of the “SPA “Almaz” work on the issues of the development of the special airborne systems;

2) To inform the leadership of the RF Ministry of Defense and the Military-Industrial Commission under the RF Government about the concern of the NAB ASD members over the situation with organizing and conducting R&D projects on the development of the special airborne systems;

3) Taking into consideration the potential for effective use of the special ground-based systems to solve the ASD tasks and significant scientific and technological advance in its implementation – to recommend to OJSC “SPA” Almaz” to elaborate the concept and technical proposals on the special ground-based system for participation in the competition for R&D aimed at the development of the prototype system.

The statement of Ashurbeyli I.R. was heard: about the intention of OJSC “Concern AD “Almaz-Antey” to join Non-Departmental Advisory Board on Aerospace Defense (NAB ASD) as a legal entity, as well as the information was heard: on establishing the Leading System Design Bureau of AD/ABM Defense based on OJSC “State Special Design Bureau (SSDB) “Almaz-Antey” named after Academician A.A. Raspletin”.

The decision was taken: to take note of the information.

The proposal of Sitnov A.P. was heard: on the possibility of creating under Non-Commercial Partnership “Non-Departmental Advisory Board on Aerospace Defense” (NAB ASD) a scientific research institute to solve the system-wide problems of developing the future-oriented ASD weapons, military and special equipment, including prestrategic, military technical and military economic reason of the development of the aerospace defense system and its instruments.

The decision was taken: to entrust Executive Director of the Board Ostapenko S.N. with the appraisal of capability and practicability of establishing the scientific research institute under NAB ASD.
