XXXIX Enlarged Military-Scientific Conference

Following an invitation from the Chief of the Air Defense Scientific Research Centre (in Tver) of the Central Scientific-Research Institute of the RF Ministry of Defense No.4 (не там поставил номер 4), the Chairman of the Presidium of the Non-Departmental Advisory Council on Aerospace Defence, Doctor of Technical Sciences Igor Ashurbeyli, and the Scientific Secretary of the Non-Departmental Advisory Council on Aerospace Defence, Candidate of Military Sciences I V Kosyak took part in the traditional main scientific forum on the subject of Air Defense, Anti-Missile Defense and Aerospace Defence. This was the XXXIX Enlarged Military-Scientific Conference, which took place on November 7-8 2013 in the Air Defense Scientific Research Centre (in Tver) of the Central Scientific-Research Institute of the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation No.4.

Representatives of the General Staff; the Military-Scientific Committee of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation; the Command Structure of the Aerospace Defense Forces; academic organizations; and the military-industrial complex were all invited to take part in the Conference.

The Conference program included plenary and individual reports, as well as a seminar organized by the Inter-Departmental Commission of the Russian Ministry of Defense and the “Rosatom” state corporation on the subject of “Future requirements for aerospace defense: difficult questions and ways to solve them”.

The plenary session opened with a speech from the Deputy Commander-in-Chief of the Aerospace Defence Forces, Major-General K V Makarov, who talked about the difficulties of forming the Aerospace Defence Forces and how to improve its effectiveness.

The Director-General of the RTI Company and General Constructor of the prefabricated long-range radar stations, Doctor of Economic Sciences, Professor S.F. Boyev, spoke about the state of the funds for the early-warning defense system and ways it could be developed.
